Person seriously injured after attempted break-in at house in Newquay

Police say they had to receive medical attention

An occupant of a house has been left seriously injured after a group of people tried to break in.

Police were called to a property on Tredour Road late on Friday night.

Officers say the occupant of the house needed immediate medical attention.

Any neighbours who saw what happened, or anyone with CCTV footage, is being urged to get in contact.

"At 2340hrs on 20/11/2020 Police were called to Tredour Road, Newquay, to reports of a group of persons trying to break into a house.

"During this incident the occupant of the premises was seriously injured and had to receive immediate medical attention.

"Police are appealing for neighbours and the public to contact police if they have any information that may be of value to the investigation, this includes CCTV, anyone seen in the area at the time of the offence and any information they may have that would assist the police in locating the individuals involved."
