Person found safe by rescue team at Towan Beach

Newquay Coastguard Search & Rescue Team were tasked to reports of a person in difficulty in the water

A person has been found safe and well after a sea search this morning (Friday 24 May).

Newquay Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to reports of a person in difficulty in the water at Towan Beach.

The team were contacted just after 2:30am

Newquay RNLI Lifeboats & Newquay Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 924 were also initially tasked.

Following a search of the area and after receiving more information from Devon & Cornwall Police confirming the casualty was safe and well, the team were stood down.

Members of the public are being warned that if you see someone in difficulty along the coast, dial 999 and ask for the coastguard.
