Person dies following crash and vehicle fire in west Cornwall

Police are investigating the circumstances of what happened near the beauty spot

A person has died following a crash and vehicle fire near a beauty spot in west Cornwall.

Police were called to Treen Hill, near Porthcurno, at 8.45am on Tuesday morning.

A vehicle was found to be alight in a field and sadly a person had died at the scene.

Officers are investigating how it happened and anyone with information is being asked to get in touch.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at 8.45am today Tuesday 12th October to Treen Hill, following reports of a single vehicle collision.

"It was reported that a vehicle had been located in a field on fire.

"A person was confirmed deceased at the scene.

"Officers are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision."
