Police investigating after a person died on the A38 in Plymouth

A police investigation has been launched after the death of a person on the A38 in Plymouth.

Officers were called to the area between Marsh Mills and Leigham early on Friday morning (8th October) following reports of a crash involving a person.

Sadly, the man had died at the scene.

Police are trying to work out what happened and anyone who was travelling in the area, or who has dashcam footage, is asked to get in touch.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called shortly before 7am this morning 8 October to the A38 between Marsh Mills and Leigham following reports of a potential collision involving a person.

“A man has been confirmed deceased at the scene.

“Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.

“Emergency services remain at the scene and the road is expected to remain closed at least throughout the morning.

“Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area around that time and may have relevant dash cam footage.

“Anyone with any information which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 153 of 8 October”.
