Pensioner left with life-changing injuries after serious crash near Liskeard

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses and dashcam after Saturday's collision

A pensioner has suffered life-changing injuries after a serious crash in south east Cornwall.

Police say the 83-year-old man, who was a passenger when two cars collided near Liskeard, was taken to hospital.

The incident happened on the B3252 at Horningtops on Saturday morning (17th September), leaving three other people with minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours to allow officers from the special Roads Policing Team to investigate.

Devon & Cornwall Police are asking anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

A force spokesperson said: "Police investigating a road traffic collision on the B3252 on Saturday 17th September are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a red Hyundai I20 and a grey Citroen Picasso on the B3252 junction with the B3251 Horningtops, near Liskeard, at around 9.55am.

"An 83-year-old male passenger who was in the Hyundai sustained life changing injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Three other people sustained minor injuries.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended to investigate and establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.

"The road was closed for several hours while a specialist examination took place and reopened at around 3.25pm.

"The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information or dashcam footage which may have captured either vehicle prior to the collision, that could help the officers with their enquiries".
