Penryn mental health charity to close at end of January
An appeal to raise ÂŁ200,000 for Sea Sanctuary wasn't successful
A Cornish mental health charity has confirmed it'll close at the end of the month.
Sea Sanctuary, which uses things like sailing trips to help people's wellbeing, said it needed to raise ÂŁ200,000 by the end of last year to continue.
The charity has now announced the appeal wasn't successul.
In a statement on Twitter, founder Joe Sabien said, "On behalf of directors and staff alike, I would like to thank you for your support over these years, and we sincerely hope our service has been of help
"Please remember though, YOU are the real engine behind your improved health.
"Our congratulations to each and every one of you for your courage, bravery and determination to finish"
The charity has offered refunds to anyone who's donated money, but it's said any surplus will be donated to another mental health charity in the local community.
