Pedestrian suffers 'life-changing injuries' after serious crash in north Cornwall

Two pedestrians have been injured following a collision with a car in Bude, one of them seriously.

A 60-year-old man suffered potentially life-changing injuries on Morwenna Terrace on Wednesday (15th September).

He was airlifted to Derriford and a 65-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Devon and Cornwall Police say both the casualties are from Derbyshire.

They are asking anyone who saw what happened at around 12pm, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are seeking witnesses to a serious collision in Bude on Wedesday (15th September) which left two pedestrians injured, one seriously.

"Officers were called around noon after the collision involving a Toyota CH-R and a woman and man on Morwenna Terrace.

"The man, aged 60 and from Derbyshire, sustained serious, potentially life-changing injuries, and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

"The 65-year-old woman, also from Derbyshire, was also injured and taken to Derriford Hospital by ambulance.

"The male driver of the Toyota is assisting police with their enquiries.

"Local officers and officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended, alongside the fire service and ambulance.

"The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours while an examination of the scene was carried out”.
