Paul Lyal-Venables pleads guilty to manslaughter of Truro market stall trader
He appeared at the city's Crown Court this morning
A man has plead guilty to the manslaughter of a popular market stall trader from Truro.
Paul Lyal-Venables appeared at the city's Crown Court this morning (April 14) after the incident outside the Railway Workers Social Club on Station Road last year.
On July 2nd, Luke Pocock, who was 54 years old, suffered serious head injuries following the assault and was rushed to Derriford Hospital in a serious condition.
He was induced into a coma, but died just over three weeks later.
Mr Pocock ran a gaming and trading stall called 'Faceless Monkey' at the city's Pannier Market.
It opened back in 2019 - with those who knew him describing him as a 'good friend' and an 'awesome bloke'.
Two months later, the shop was reopened by his daughter, Becca, following his death in August 2022.
35-year-old Lyal-Venables will be sentenced on the 10th of May.
