High-visibility patrols in Cornish town after rise in antisocial behaviour
Officers in Wadebridge are going out and about on foot, after incidents in parks and playgrounds
The police are carrying out high-visibility patrols in a Cornish town, after a rise in antisocial behaviour.
Incidents have been reported in parks and playgrounds in Wadebridge.
Officers have described it as a slight increase by a minority of people, after the easing of lockdown restrictions and the recent sunny weather.
Now they are now going out and about on foot, to make sure locals and visitors feel safe.
PC Alex Allen, local Neighbourhood Beat Manager was on foot patrol this bank holiday Sunday afternoon.
"With the bank holiday sunshine and easing of lockdown we have seen a slight increase in reports of antisocial behaviour in Wadebridge playgrounds.
"I am pleased to say there is only a minority of people who have been causing issues.
"However, antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated and along with Cornwall Council's ASB Caseworker, we will continue to make it a priority to ensure everyone feels safe when out in the fantastic parks and playgrounds in Wadebridge that we are blessed with".
