Scene cordoned off after 'partial building collapse' in Portreath

A road in Portreath has been cordoned off following a partial building collapse.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Battery Hill on Sunday evening.

Police confirmed that the area was closed to both pedestrians and vehicles because of reports of an unstable building.

"Critical Control received a call at 18:11 on 14/04/21 stating there has been a partial collapse of a property.

"Crews from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station arrived alongside Devon and Cornwall Police, cordoned off the area and requested the attendance of building control."

"Police were called just after 6pm on Sunday 14th February to reports of a possible unstable building on Battery Hill in Portreath.

"The road below the property has been closed to both pedestrians and vehicles pending a structural assessment this morning."
