Cornish animal park director to get really wild hair-do in fundraising effort
Nick Reynolds will either be getting a Mohican or a reverse Mohican to raise much-needed funds for Paradise Park in Hayle
A bird-mad director of a Cornish animal park has plucked up the courage to brave the shave in a bid to raise funds.
Paradise Park's, Nick Reynolds has opted to go for either a Mohican or a reverse Mohican style cut to match his Umbrella Cockatoo pal, Max.
A poll is currently up and running on its Facebook page as to which he should get, which can be found here.
The site in Hayle, which is home to more than 1,200 birds and animals, has been financially struggling due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with the park having to close for most of the year.
Nick decided he wanted to do more to help the animals and staff at the park during this current time of crisis.
"It's really not easy being being closed; trying to feed all the birds and animals that we have here and look after all the staff as well, so I thought I'll have a bit of a head shave - that usually goes down quite well."

He continues to say how the park has never had to rely on food or monetary donations during its 47-year history. He has thanked members of the public for their continued support and generosity.
"This last year has been bad for so many and I feel sorry for all effected and the wonderful NHS staff doing a sterling job.
"I have to concentrate on the fantastic birds and other animals we care for here at Paradise Park, some of which are so rare that we keep important populations ready to repatriate when possible in the future.
"The staff are brilliant and work in all weathers to do their lovely but sometimes very difficult job. We need a minimum of 10 staff in each day to care for our over 1,200 birds and animals and the costs of animal care alone is £46,000 a month – even when we are closed!
"There have been so many wonderful donations coming in every day and it is hard to be needing to ask for more support, but felt that I needed to do more to show I am doing my bit."

Nick will be having his hair cut into a Mohican on Monday 1st February on what would have been his father's birthday.
"I will keep my hair like the final cut until April 14th, the day that ‘Bird Paradise’ as we used to be called, opened in 1973.
Please see my Just Giving page to support my endeavour and thank you so much, we don’t know what we would do without you.”
