One more death and another 24 hour rise in coronavirus cases in Cornwall
That takes the total number of Covid-related deaths in the Duchy to 475 since the start of the pandemic
The number of coronavirus cases in Cornwall increased by 269 in the last 24 hours, official figures show - and one more death was recorded.
A total of 21,528 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Cornwall when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on July 21ST (Wednesday), up from 21,259 on Tuesday.
The rate of infection in Cornwall now stands at 3,765 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 8,619.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 43,404 over the period, to 5,563,006.
There was also one more coronavirus death recorded in the latest 24-hour period in Cornwall.
The dashboard shows 475 people had died in the area by July 21st (Wednesday) - up from 474 on Tuesday.
It means there have been two deaths in the past week, which is a decrease on three the previous week.
They were among 6,834 deaths recorded across the South West.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Cornwall.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that more than two-thirds of people in Cornwall have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
The latest figures show 340,761 people had received both jabs by July 20th (Tuesday) - 69% of those aged 18 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 69% of people aged 18 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
