Getting protected against Covid-19 just got easier in Cornwall, with the news that people no longer need to book an appointment.

Anyone over the age of 18 who has not yet had their first dose can turn up at Cornwall's mass vaccination centres without a pre-booked slot.

Patients will be able to get their first dose of Pfizer at either the Stithians or Royal Cornwall showgrounds from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday.

Royal Cornwall Hospitals chief pharmacist Iain Davidson said: "Vaccination is our way out of this pandemic, and getting our lives back to normal.

"We have an incredibly successful vaccination programme, and since December have put more than 700,000 doses of vaccine in people's arms.

"Cases of COVID-19 are rising in Cornwall, and we want to make it easier for people to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.

"Anyone who's 18 or older and hasn't yet had their first dose can just turn up to 1 of our vaccination centres in Stithians or Wadebridge to get their jab.

"There's no need to book, just turn up from 9am to 6pm, and get jabbed. It's quick, easy, and simple to do, and brings us 1 step closer to normality".
