A new speed camera in Truro has caught over three thousand drivers in just one month.

The new technology on the A390 at Tregolls Road catches cars on both sides of the road.

Police say in June alone, 3,366 vehicles were caught breaking the 30mph speed limit, with the majority of those now going on to take a speed awareness course.

Officers are urging drivers to slow down and take care.

Truro, Perranporth and Tregony Police posted on Facebook: "The A390 Tregolls Road in Truro has a speed limit of 30mph. In June this year 3366 vehicles were caught travelling over this.

"3145 will be receiving a speed awareness course. 221 will receive either points/fine or a summons to court.

"Please slow down. We are committed to working with partner agencies, the road casualty reduction team, Devon and Cornwall PCC in reducing deaths on our roads. Please slow down."
