A new ice warning has been issued for Cornwall.

The Met Office says icy stretches may lead to some difficult driving conditions on Saturday morning.

The alert comes into force at midnight and lasts through until 11am, straight off the back of an existing weather warning for snow and ice.

Flurries and ice patches are forecast across the Duchy on Friday with more cold temperatures now forecast into the weekend.

What to expect

Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces

Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

"Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will clear southwards during the early hours of Saturday, but some showers will affect coastal districts.

"Where skies clear, icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces."
