National Highways say they are "focused" on completing the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross upgrade by the end of March 2024.

The road was closed between Scorrier and Boxheater over the weekend for the latest round of works to take place - it has since reopened.

Further preparatory work was carried out in advance of the A30 being realigned next month, as well as to allow for the construction of the north deck of a 'green bridge'.

The old Tolgroggan accommodation bridge at Zelah was also dismantled to allow for further work around the new Tolgroggan bridge, which was installed earlier this year.

Neil Winter, Senior Project Manager for National Highways’ A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross scheme, said:

"We're getting there - it's the big push now to the end. We've got some challenges to overcome but we appreciate everyone's patience.

"We've had a wet July and we need a good winter. We've got a lot of earthworks and weather dependent activities still to do. So there are some challenges, but we're still pushing and we're still focused on having a road open for the public to use by the end of March next year."
