25-year-old man charged with murder after death of woman in Helston

Police, who have been investigating the death of a woman in Helston for six months, have charged a young man with murder.

62-year-old Alison Stevenson was found dead at a property in the town earlier this year.

Officers from Devon & Cornwall Police were called to Meneage Road on 25th May.

Paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service were also sent to the scene but, tragically, Alison Stevenson was pronounced dead.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder the next day, before being released on bail.

Cameron Dancey-Stevenson was charged this week.

Devon & Cornwall Police said: "A man has been charged in connection to a murder investigation into the death of a woman at a property in Helston on 25th May.

"Police were called to the address in Meneage Road where 62-year-old Alison Stevenson was confirmed deceased at the scene.

"Cameron Dancey-Stevenson, aged 25, from Helston, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Truro Magistrates Court on Friday 12th November."

The 25-year-old appeared before Truro Magistrates Court and Truro Crown Court on Friday 12th November.

He has been remanded in custody and is next due in court on January 7th for a plea hearing.

A preliminary trial date has been set for May, which would be expected to last three weeks.
