Multi-vehicle crash closes busy stretch of A39 in Cornwall
Emergency services were giving first aid to the walking wounded

A multi-vehicle crash closed a busy main road in Cornwall in both directions.
It is understood that three cars were involved in the collision on the A39 near to Carland Cross.
There are no reports of serious injuries but emergency services were giving first aid to the walking wounded.
One male driver has also been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Firefighters from Newquay and Perranporth were called to the scene along with police and ambulance crews.
It has now been confirmed that the road has been reopened.
At the time, a spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: "Three-car collision on the A30 at Carland Cross roundabout.
"The A39 into Truro is currently closed. Closure also on the A39 at St Erme.
"One male driver has sustained minor injuries and will be taken to Treliske Hospital."
A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "Crews from Newquay, Perranporth and a flexi duty officer are in attendance to a multiple vehicle road traffic collision.
"There were no persons trapped and fire service were assisting with making vehicles safe and giving first aid to walking wounded.
"Police and ambulance are also in attendance."
Traffic in the area is said to be returning to normal and the collision has been cleared.
Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "A39 in both directions re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared from A30 (Carland Cross, Carland Cross) to St Erme turn-off (St Erme).
"Sensors show the road was re-opened at 12:15."
