Two more walk-in vaccine clinics in Falmouth after rise in Covid cases
Patients will be able to get first dose Pfizer jabs at the health centre and mobile vaccination van without an appointment
With efforts to keep as many people as possible safe against the COVID-19 virus continuing, two walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinics will take place in Falmouth this week.
Cases of COVID-19 are continuing to rise across Cornwall and it is expected they will rise further following Monday's (19th July) lifting of restrictions.
NHS Kernow says getting vaccinated with both jabs is one of the ways we can protect ourselves, the people we love and those around us, and enjoy a return to normal everyday life.
Clinics are being held at Falmouth Health Centre and on the mobile vaccination van; scroll down for more information.
Issy Boyd, a GP for Falmouth and Penryn, said: "We've already held one walk-in at the Falmouth Health Centre and we are delighted to provide a second chance for people to walk-in and get themselves.
"We know that with the hot weather many people will be thinking about hitting the beach but before you do take 15 minutes to grab and jab.
"We are offering both first and second doses for people who had their first vaccination eight weeks ago or longer so that people can protect themselves against COVID.
"However, if people would prefer to book, we also have lots of appointments at our Penryn surgery. To book an appointment go to the national booking service or call 119.
"By having both doses of the vaccine we can make sure that we provide the body with the best protection against the virus.
"Both jabs are really important as we return to our everyday lives in keeping ourselves and each other safe. So don't delay and do it for Cornwall".
