Another rise in number of Covid patients treated in Cornwall's main hospitals

Figures show it was 29 as of last Tuesday (23rd November), up from 19 the week before

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust was caring for 29 coronavirus patients in hospital as of last Tuesday, figures show.

NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on November 23rd was up from 19 on the same day the previous week and by Friday (26th November), had risen to 38.

The number of beds at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 decreased by 36% in the last four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 45.

Across England there were 6,257 people in hospital with Covid as of November 23, with 780 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has decreased by 9% in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by 3%.

The figures also show that 34 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust in the week to November 21st, up from 30 in the previous seven days.
