Police have confirmed a missing 13-year-old boy from north Cornwall has now been found safe.

Ben Stone had not been home since Friday and searches had entered their fifth day.

There had been numerous sightings of the teenager around the town and his mum issued a desperate plea, urging him to come home.

Officers had said they were growing increasingly concerned for Ben's welfare and launched an urgent 999 appeal.

Now as of Wednesday afternoon (18th May) police say the youngster is safe and they are thanking the public for their help.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Ben Stone, 13, who had been reported missing from the Bude area on Friday 13 May, has been found safe by police.

"We would like to thank members of the public for their help."
