Chaos has been caused by strong winds at the Royal Cornwall Showground.

A "mini tornado" picked up tarpaulins, towels and even a whole gazebo, during a classic car show and collectors fair.

The gazebo was dropped onto a building roof, with other items spinning up into the sky and off into the distance.

Witnesses say it was a surprise as the day was sunny and calm!

Gary Down, who saw the events unfold and posted a video on Facebook, told Greatest Hits Radio: "Initially we wondered what it was blowing around in the sky, as there was no wind, it was a sunny calm day.

"Then we realised it wasn’t just plastic bags it was whole Tarpaulins going round in circles and getting higher.

"At this point t I thought this is worth videoing.

"Admittedly when we started to hear crashing and banging, then the gazebo took off, we did start to worry a little, as the wind started to pick up around us. You can see that in the video.

"That’s when again in the video you can here everyone start to react at this point.

"It seemed to pass the other side of the hedge from us then went behind us and across the fields .

"By this time the bags, sheets and tarpaulins had risen up so high they where almost out of sight."
