A yellow warning is in place for Cornwall and parts of Devon overnight as a cold snap is due to hit the South West.

The warning for icy conditions covers all areas across the Duchy and Plymouth - as well as some parts of Devon.

Ice is expected to cause some disruption between midnight and 9AM on Tuesday morning.

The Met Office says: "Periods of rain, with hill sleet and snow, will clear during the early hours of Tuesday.

"Clear skies quickly follow, allowing temperatures to fall below freezing, bringing the risk of icy patches where surfaces remain wet."

Cornwall Council has also declared its cold weather protocol so people sleeping in rough in the Duchy from today (Monday 15 January)

The Council say you can alert them to someone sleeping rough by making a referral through Streetlink.
