Man 'stabbed in the stomach' while sitting on bench in Redruth

A man has been stabbed in the stomach while sitting on a bench in Redruth town centre.

Police say the victim in his 30s was approached by another man on Shoot Row when it happened on Sunday evening.

He was taken to hospital and treated for a minor wound.

Officers say the offender fled the scene and anyone who saw the attack, or has any information, is asked to get in touch.

"Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed on Shoot Row, Redruth, on Sunday 11th October.

"At around 5.30pm, a man in his 30s was sitting on a bench when he was approached by another man and stabbed in the stomach.

"He was treated in hospital for a minor wound.

"The offender, who subsequently ran off, is described as white male in his early 20s, approximately 5’11” in height, clean shaven, wearing blue jeans, a black hoody with the hood up and white Nike trainers."
