Incident in Bodmin: Man airlifted to hospital after being found with 'stab wound'

Police have released an update on the incident that has closed one of the main roads in Bodmin.

Officers, including armed police, were called to reports of a serious assault on Priory Road on Monday night (24th May).

They say a man was found in the street with a stab wound and has since been airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Devon and Cornwall Police say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning GBH and enquiries are ongoing.

"Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Priory Road, Bodmin at around 10.30pm on Monday 24 May.

"A male with a stab wound was located in the street and taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance with a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

"Firearms and local officers attended the incident.

"A 16-year-old boy, from Bodmin, has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing".

The A389 Priory Road was closed in both directions but has now been reopened.
