Man seriously injured following two-vehicle crash on Cornwall's A39

It happened this morning (Friday 14th May), however, the road still remains closed and motorists are being told to avoid the area

A man has sustained serious injuries following a crash on the A39 in Cornwall.

Officers were called after two vehicles collided near Wadebridge at 8.40am on Friday 14th May.

It was initially thought that four people had been has been involved, with all suffering only minor injuries.

Police have now confirmed that three people sustained what are believed to be minor injuries and a man suffered serious injuries.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area as police collision investigators are on the scene.

Anyone who witnessed or was in the area prior to the collision and has dashcam footage are being asked to contact police.

"Police were called with a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A39 near Wadebridge, between Padstow and Bodmin junctions, this morning at around 8.40am.

"Three people sustained what are believed to be minor injuries. A male has sustained serious injuries.

"The incident involved a black Jeep and a silver Renault people carrier.

"Police attended with ambulance and fire crews. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as police collision investigators are at the scene.

"Witnesses of the collision, or anyone in the area prior to the collision with dashcam footage that may have captured either vehicle involved, are asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.uk quoting log 153, 14/5/21."
