Man has possible life-changing injuries after serious crash in Cornwall

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the A390 at Callington on Sunday afternoon

A man has suffered potentially life-changing injuries after a serious crash in east Cornwall.

It is understood the driver, in his 30s, had to be cut free after his car ended up on its side at Callington.

It happened on the A390 on Sunday afternoon and the road was closed for several hours.

Police are urging anyone who saw what happened or who might have dashcam footage to come forward.

"At 1311hrs on Sunday 14th February 2021 Police were notified of a single vehicle RTC on the A390, Callington close to the Fullaford Road junction.

"The vehicle involved is a red Mini Cooper S.

"The male driver in his 30s has sustained possible life-changing injuries as a result of the collision.

"Any witnesses to the collision who haven't already spoken to Police at the scene are asked to contact the police on 101 quoting log number 384 - 14th February 2021.

"Police would be particularly interested in anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision and any driver that had been travelling in the opposite direction.

"Police would like to thank the members of public for their patience whilst an investigation of the scene was completed".

"Appliances from Callington and Liskeard along with a Rescue Tender from Bodmin and Flexi-Duty Officer were mobilised to a road traffic collision at the above location.

"Crews used crash rescue equipment to release one casualty from a vehicle on its side.

"South Western Ambulance Service and Devon & Cornwall Police were also in attendance".
