Driver suffers 'potentially life changing injuries' in A30 crash

The eastbound side was shut for several hours between Launceston and Okehampton

Witnesses and dashcam footage of the collision on the eastbound stretch of the carriageway are being sought by police.

Officers investigating the crash involving grey Peugeot 27 hatchback say the driver suffered potentially life changing injuries.

It closed the road for several hours between Launceston and Okehampton.

"At 1617 hours on Friday 10th September 2021 a single vehicle collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A30, just prior to the Sourton Cross off slip, Okehampton.

"The collision involved a Grey Peugeout 207 hatchback. As a result of the collision the driver of the Peugeot sustained potentially life changing injuries.

"Local officers as well as officers from Roads Policing Team attended the scene, once the thorough investigation was concluded the road was reopened.

"Any persons who witnessed or have information regarding the collision, in particular any dashcam footage are asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on Tel:101 quoting log number 0625 of the 10th September 2021.

"Police would like to thank the public for their patience whilst we dealt with the collision."
