Man seriously injured in A30 crash near Penzance

A 39-year-old man was arrested but has since been released on police bail

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious crash near Penzance.

Emergency services were called to the A30 at Canon's Town at around 11.00am on Thursday 21 September.

It involved a black BMW 3 Series Touring and a Silver Mercedes E-Class Estate.

As a result of the crash, the driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries.

A 39-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of driving dangerously and driving whilst unfit through drugs. He was released on police bail until 31 October.

The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.
