Man suffers serious injuries after falling from cliffs above beach in Newquay
Police have confirmed the casualty was airlifted to Derriford Hospital on Monday (20th September)
A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling from cliffs above a beach in Newquay.
Police were called to Lusty Glaze on Monday morning, after receiving reports of concern for a person's welfare.
Multiple emergency services rushed to the scene, including paramedics, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Coastguard teams and the rescue helicopter.
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed the casualty has been flown to Derriford Hospital.
The force said: "We were called with a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Lusty Glaze Road area of Newquay at around 11.20am today (Monday 20 September).
"The man subsequently fell from cliffs and has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious injuries.
"Paramedics, the fire service and HM Coastguard were also called to the incident.
"A road closure is in place at the junction of Henver Road and Lusty Glaze Road".
