Man rescued and treated for burns following house fire in Carbis Bay

A man has been treated for burns following a house fire in Carbis Bay.

Firefighters got the shout at around 12pm on Monday (21st June) amid fears a casualty was trapped inside.

The man was rescued from the property and left in the care of paramedics.

Fire crews have confirmed that the blaze was sparked by a chip pan in a sink.

"All pumps including 1 from Hayle Emergency Services Community Station was sent to a house fire with persons reported.

"The 1st pump deployed two crew under rapid deployment and rescued the male occupant.

"The fire was quickly brought under control.

"The casualty is now in the care of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust receiving treatment for burns."

"Crews from St Ives and Hayle Community Fire Station's rescued a male from a property after a fire occurred.

"The male was left in the hands of South Western Ambulance Service."
