Man dies after being pulled from the sea at popular beach in Falmouth

The casualty was discovered at Gyllyngvase Beach on Saturday evening (August 14th) but could not be saved

Police have confirmed a man has died after being pulled from the sea in Cornwall.

Officers and other emergency services rushed to Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth on Saturday evening.

They had received an alert to say a person had been pulled from the water.

Tragically, the casualty, who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said his family have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police said: “Police were called at 6.50pm to Gyllyngvase beach, along with other emergency services, following reports that a man had been pulled from the sea. __

“The man, in his 40s, was confirmed deceased at the scene.

“His next of kin have been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner”.
