A young man has pleaded not guilty to murder following the death of a woman in Helston.

62-year-old Alison Stevenson was found dead at a property in the town last year.

Officers from Devon & Cornwall Police were called to Meneage Road on 25th May 2021.

Paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service were also sent to the scene but, tragically, Alison could not be saved.

Police charged Cameron Dancey-Stevenson with murder in the November.

He appeared at Truro Crown Court via video link on Thursday (10th February) to enter his not guilty plea.

The 25-year-old, of no fixed address, currently remains in a psychiatric unit.

A trial date has been set for the 3rd of May and is expected to last three weeks.
