Man in hospital after shop assault
A man who was restrained following an alleged assault at a convenience store in Torpoint is in hopsital.
Devon and Cornwall police were called at 4:45pm on Wednesday to the Co-op Food shop in Fore Street after reports of a disturbance.
The force said a man in his 50s had allegedly assaulted staff and become abusive to customers. He was then restrained by a male customer but became unresponsive a short time later.
The man from Torpoint, was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
A male in his 40s from the Millbrook area has been arrested on suspicion of assault while police enquiries continue.
