A man suffers serious leg injuries after being hit by a car in West Cornwall

A pedestrian is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car near Redruth.

The 29 year old suffered serious leg injuries in the collision on the Illogan Highway in Pool.

A 24 year old man and another passenger in the car weren't badly hurt.

Police are now invesitgating the cause of the crash.

"At about 20:24 hrs on Friday 26th March 2021, Police were notified of a road traffic collision on Agar Road, Illogan Highway, Pool in Cornwall.

"The collision involved a white BMW car and a pedestrian. As a result of the collision the pedestrian, a 29-year-old male, has sustained serious leg injuries and is currently in a critical condition at Derriford Hospital.

"The driver of the BMW, a 24-year-old male and a passenger in the car were not injured and are assisting Police with their enquiries.

"Officers attended the incident and commenced an investigation of the scene to establish the cause of the collision.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision and who may also have Dash Cam or CCTV of the incident."
