Man dies and crew member injured in 'fishing vessel incident' off Cornish coast

They were found 50 miles off the Duchy's coast

A man has died following an incident on board a fishing vessel off the Cornish Coast.

Devon and Cornwall Police say they were informed by the Marine Accident Investigation Board, Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) and the Coastguard of the circumstances which happened 50 miles off the coast.

Another crew member was injured on board according to the force.

Families of those involved have been involved and an investigation is underway.

"Police and partners from the Marine Accident Investigation Board, MCA and Coast Guard, were informed of an incident on board a fishing vessel some 50 miles off the Cornish Coast, resulting in the death of one male and the injury to another of the crew.

"The families of those involved have been informed and a joint investigation is now underway."
