Police charge man in connection with alleged bomb hoaxes in Truro

Two charges relate to an incident at Richard Lander School and a third relates to an NHS facility

Devon & Cornwall Police have confirmed a man in his 60s has been charged in connection with alleged bomb hoaxes in Truro.

Two charges relate to an incident at Richard Lander School and the third relates to an NHS facility in the city.

Rodney Peasley of Radnor Road, Scorrier has also been charged with four counts of criminal damage relating to a Covid vaccination centre.

The incidents are alleged to have taken place between the 26th October and 19th November.

66-year-old Peasley is due to appear before Truro Magistrates Court in December.

In a statement, the force said: "Police have charged a 66-year-old man in connection with three bomb hoaxes in Truro on the morning of Friday 19th November.

"Rodney Peasley of Radnor Road, Scorrier, is further charged with four counts of criminal damage between 26th October and 17th November.

"He is due to appear before Truro Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 16th December.

"Two of the bomb hoax charges relate to false information allegedly being communicated to Richard Lander School in Truro. The third relates to an NHS facility in the city.

"The criminal damage charges all relate to the Mount Hawke vaccination centre near Truro.

"They are alleged to have happened between the 26th and 27th October, 29th October and 1st November, on 9th November and the 17th November respectively".
