Man charged with drink-driving following serious-injury crash in Looe

A man has been charged with drink-driving following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Looe.

An 81-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

It happened on Fore Street on Monday.

Police say 57-year-old local man has been bailed and in due before Bodmin Magistrates next month.

"A 57-year-old man has been charged with drink-driving following a serious road traffic collision in Fore Street, Looe, on Monday 14th June.

"The collision involved a car and an 81-year-old female pedestrian, who sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital."

Officers added that the man has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and has been bailed to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court on Friday 9th July.
