Man suffers injuries to his head and face after assault in Newquay

A man has been taken to hospital with injuries to his face and head after an assault in Newquay.

Police were called to Higher Tower Road on Saturday night amid reports of an assault involving two men in a car.

It is believed that they are known to each other.

One man, in his thirties, was taken to hospital via ambulance.

Officers say enquiries are still ongoing.

"Police were called to Higher Tower Road, Newquay, at around 9.20pm on Saturday 10th April, with a report of an assault involving two men known to one another, in a car.

"A man in his 30s was taken to hospital via ambulance for treatment for facial and head wounds.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
