Lifeguard patrols are being reinstated at a beach in Newquay due to its changing and dangerous landscape.

The RNLI will be carrying out patrols at Crantock during the half term week.

The beach has been known for its dangerous conditions due to the topography of where the River Gannel meets the sand.

"This patrol has been made possible by members of the Newquay Lifeguard team volunteering their time to provide a service for the community, they will also be supported by volunteers from Crantock surf lifesaving club."
