Devon and Cornwall have said they are attending a serious collision involving two cars on the A30.

Officers from emergency services were called to the scene at Plusha Lewannick in Launceston at around 12:40pm on Sunday (August 11th).

Two cars were involved in the collision, with two people in the cars sustaining serious injuries following the crash.

Following the crash, the westbound side of the road was close and the force have warned that the road will remain shut to traffic for some time.

Police have said that drivers should avoid the area where possible as the force continues its investigations into the incident.

The force also said that the crash could have a knock-on effect later in the evening ahead of the end of the Boardmasters music festival.

People who are looking to travel to the area to collect attendees are being urged to find alternative travel arrangements and plan ahead due to potential delays.

Devon and Cornwall Police have said that the incident is ongoing and enquiries are being carried out following the incident.
