House fire in Redruth scrambles firefighters from across west Cornwall

The blaze broke out on Cardrew Terrace at around 11.30pm on Monday and burned through the night

Crews from across west Cornwall have spent the night battling a big house fire in Redruth.

Firefighters from Tolvaddon, Hayle, Perranporth and Falmouth were called to Cardrew Terrace shortly before 11.30pm on Monday 29th November, along with an aerial ladder from Truro.

One team was left damping down and checking for hotspots by the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service has not reported any injuries.

Officials say an investigation is due to be carried out in daylight hours,

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "At this time the fire service is in attendance at a 'make pumps six' residential property fire.

"Appliances from Tolvaddon, Hayle, Perranporth, Falmouth are on scene along with the aerial ladder platform from Truro.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire".

At 4am they added: "One appliance is remaining on damping down and monitoring for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera.

"A fire investigation will be completed in daylight hours to determine the cause of the blaze".
