King Charles' proclamation to be repeated at landmarks across Cornwall today
It will be read on the steps outside Truro Cathedral at 1pm on Sunday 11th September

Residents are invited to witness Cornwall's proclamation of the Accession of King Charles III at Truro Cathedral.
The proclamation of a new Sovereign is an ancient tradition, which can be traced over many centuries, and will take place on the cathedral's steps at 1pm on Sunday 11th September.
Mr Andrew Williams, The High Sherriff of Cornwall, will read Cornwall's proclamation at Truro Cathedral.
He will be accompanied by Pol Hodge, the Grand Bard of Gorsedh Kernow, who will read the proclamation in Cornish.
Cllr Pauline Giles, Chairman of Cornwall Council said: "We know that the residents of Cornwall will want to express their own feelings of sadness and respect for The Queen who was much loved by people here, many of whom have fond memories of her many visits to the Duchy".
Town and Parish Councils will repeat the proclamation at other locations across the Duchy later on Sunday.
Where can I watch King Charles' proclamations?
Penzance: The Mayor of Penzance will read the proclamation from the steps of St John's Hall on Sunday 11 September at 4pm. Following the reading of the Proclamation, the Macebearers will lead the Mayor to the Memorial Garden in Penlee Park to lay a bouquet of flowers.
St Ives: The proclamation of the ascension of King Charles III will take place at the Guildhall on Sunday 11th of September at 6pm.
Porthleven: The Proclamation of the new Sovereign will be read on Sunday 11th September at 6pm by the Town Mayor, Cllr. Michael Toy, at the War Memorial
Helston: The proclamation of the new Sovereign will be read out by the Mayor, Councillor Gatton-Kane, at 6pm at the Grylls Monument and will take no longer than 15 minutes.
Falmouth: The Mayor of Falmouth, Councillor Steve Eva, will read the proclamation of King Charles III on The Moor on Sunday 11th September at 2.30pm. Everybody is welcome to attend.
Camborne: The Deputy Mayor of Camborne will read The Proclamation from the steps of the Passmore Edwards Building on Sunday 11 September at 6pm.
Redruth: The Proclamation will be read at 6pm on Sunday 11 September in front of the Miner Statue on Fore Street in Redruth. The Town Mayor, Councillor Matthew Brown will read the proclamation in English and a Cornish language version will also be available. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Truro: As well as Cornwall's official proclamation at Truro Cathedral, the City Council will hold another at 6pm on Sunday 11th September at Truro Cathedral. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Mevagissey: The proclamation, read by Councillor Michael Roberts, Chairman of Mevagissey Parish Council, will take place at the War Memorial at 6.15pm on Sunday 11th September.
St Austell: A 'local proclamation' will be made by the Mayor of St Austell as follows: Monday 12th September 2022, 12 noon in Aylmer Square, White River Place. This proclamation is to formally advise the public of the accession of King Charles III.
Newquay: A local proclamation will be made at 2pm Monday 12th September 2022 in St Michael's Church and any further details of special service(s) will be shared on the Town Council's Social Media Page over the coming days.
Bodmin: A Proclamation to announce the accession of King Charles III will be made on Sunday 11th September at 6pm at Mount Folly Square.
Launceston: The Town Council will hold a local Proclamation on Sunday 11 September. The Proclamation will be read at the following locations: The Guildhall – 6.00pm, Southgate Arch – 6.30pm, Northgate (Old library site) – 7.00pm, Newport Square/Roundhouse – 7.30pm and St Stephens Green – 8.00pm.
Bude: The official Proclamation of the new Sovereign, King Charles III, will be read at 6pm on Sunday, 11 September, by Cllr Amanda Tame, Mayor of Bude-Stratton. This will take place at the Bude Light, and the whole community is invited to attend.
Liskeard: The proclamation will be relayed to the people of Liskeard by the Mayor on Sunday 11th September at 6pm at The Fountain on The Parade.
Saltash: On Sunday 11th September, Mayor Councillor Richard Bickford will read the local proclamation at the Guildhall at 6pm.
