The moment a HUGE tuna was photographed leaping out of the water to feed in Cornwall has been caught on camera.

Marine Discovery Penzance shared the breathtaking image on social media, describing it as "such a spectacle".

The group, which operates wildlife watching trips out of west Cornwall, said they have been getting amazing views of hunting Bluefin Tuna on their last few trips.

Posting on Instagram, they said that the bay is "simply full of prey", adding "seabirds have been going nuts too".

Posting on Facebook on Monday evening, Marine Discovery Penzance said: "Looking at the forecast for the week, we might just have done our last trips of the season and they were both good ones.

"Sea conditions weren’t great but there was a lot of wildlife around and we managed to dodge the rain.

"This morning we saw so many feeding tuna and some of them breached really close to the boat".

MDP added that Bluefin Tuna are a highly protected species, brought back from the brink by effective conservation measures.
