A ride has been temporarily closed at a Cornish theme park following reports of an incident.

Posting on its website on Tuesday (26 July) Flambards in Helston said its indoor Space Race ride had been shut.

Bosses have now confirmed the incident happened in one of the carriages, forcing the ride's operator to perform an emergency stop.

They added that one adult ended up in hospital, with South Western Ambulance confirming the patient took themselves to Treliske.

The ride remains closed while specialist engineers at the park carry out an investigation, in conjunction with Health and Safety Executive.

In a statement, Flambards said: "The health and safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority and as a result the Space Race ride will remain closed until a full investigation has taken place".
