The huge fire that closed part of the A30 for several hours

If you got stuck in traffic on Cornwall's A30 on Sunday afternoon, it might have been because of this huge fire.
Crews were called to a layby near Victoria Services, to reports of a trailer with a wheel on fire.
When teams from St Dennis arrived, the flames had spread and the whole trailer was well alight.
They called in back-up from Newquay and St Columb to help battle the blaze, which took 6,000 litres of water to put out.
The fire sent smoke billowing across the carriageway.
Police were also called to the scene just after 3.30pm and road closures were put in place for several hours.
"At 15:41 a call was received to a trailer that had a wheel on fire in a layby near to the Victoria Services.
"One crew from St Dennis was sent to investigate, on crews arrival they confirmed that the fire had spread to the trailer and was well alight.
"A land rover from St Dennis was also mobilised to the scene, firefighters were using two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus.
"Police were requested to attend the scene as smoke was affecting the traffic on the A30.
"Two further appliances from St Columb and Newquay were mobilised to the scene for water.
"Firefighters used crash rescue equipment to cut access to the trailer and approximately 6000 litres of water was used to extinguish the fire.
"At 17:15 it as confirmed that the A30 had been reopened".
