Six fire engines are currently on the scene of a house fire in Hayle.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service was called out just before 10.30am on Friday morning (17th June).

The blaze has broken out in a two storey property and crews are using multiple specialist appliances, jets and house reels to tackle the flames.

It is understood to be in the Bodriggy Crescent area.

Inrix Traffic and Travel has confirmed that the road is currently closed in both directions due to a building fire.

A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We are currently dealing with a domestic property fire in the Hayle area.

"The service has six fire engines and multiple specialist appliances in attendance dealing with the incident.

"Firefighters confirmed a two storey building, fully involved in fire. The incident ground has been sectorised, with four breathing apparatus, two fire fighting jets and two hose reels in use.
