Number of Covid patients in hospital in Cornwall at lowest level in over six months
Official figures show there were just two patients last week

The number of patients in hospital in Cornwall following a positive Covid-19 test is at the lowest level for more than six months.
As of Tuesday morning (April 13), there were just two patients across the county in hospital after a positive test, the lowest number since October 3.
Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust units had two patients, which is the lowest for that Trust since October 22, while the Cornish Partnership Trust had no patients in its hospitals following a positive test for the first time since November 3.
In the last month, there have only been two hospital deaths in Cornwall, both at RCH, with one on March 19 and one on April 4.
It comes as there has been an increase of one in the number of patients in hospital in Devon, up to 15 as of Tuesday, compared to 14 for the previous week.
Derriford Hospital in Plymouth has three patients (the same as last week) while the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital had 11 patients (the same as last week).
North Devon District Hospital also remains unchanged with zero patients – a run of ten straight days now – while Torbay Hospital saw one patient admitted on Monday, April 13, breaking a run of 13 successive days whereby the hospital had no Covid-19 patients.
The number of patients in mechanical ventilation beds across the two counties is two, with both patients being at the RDE.
The figures show the amount of patients in hospital following a positive COVID-19 test who are currently occupying a bed.
But not every patient would necessarily have been admitted to hospital due to COVID-19, with a number of patients either contracting the virus inside the hospital, or being admitted for unrelated reasons but subsequently testing positive asymptotically when given routine tests.
