Homeless person's belongings set on fire in Penzance town centre
Police are treating the incident as arson
A homeless person's belongings have been set on fire in Penzance town centre.
Police say the incident happened in a doorway to a premises on Market Jew Street in the early hours of the morning last Wednesday.
It led to a front entrance and wall catching alight and officers believe it was arson.
"We are investigating an act of arson in Market Jew Street, Penzance, at around 12.50am on Wednesday 21st April in which a homeless person’s belongings were set alight in a doorway.
"This led to the front entrance and wall of the premises catching fire. The fire service attended and tackled the blaze.
"Enquiries are ongoing."

Police say three wheelie bins in the town were also set alight around 15 minutes beforehand.
"Officers are also investigating further report of arson in which three wheelie bins in the communal area of a block of flats in Chyandour Cliff, Penzance, were set on fire at around 12.30am on Wednesday 21st April."
