Large fire breaks out on Redruth industrial estate
Fire crews from across the area attended the incident.
The fire service tackled a blaze on Cardrew Industrial Estate in Redruth this morning.
Crews from Tolvaddon, Hayle, Perranporth and Falmouth, Truro, St Just, St Austell, St Columb, Helston and St Mawes were on scene, having arrived there at around 7.30am.
The incident involved 3000 pallets and five shipment containers which had caught alight. The fire then spread to a single storey building containing cylinders.
Members of the public were asked by the fire service to avoid the area due to the large smoke plume.
Just before midday, the fire service reported that they were scaling back and crews were leaving the scene. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
